300 Series Aluminum Sand Casting Alloys. Our aluminum sand foundry pours many of the 300 series aluminum alloys. These include the 355, 356, and A356 aluminum alloys which are excellent for pressure type applications such as air flow pipes and elbows, liquid flow pipes and elbows, housings and gearboxes. The high fluidity of these aluminum alloys also lends themselves to thin wall aluminum
A357.0 (A357.0-T61, A13570) Cast Aluminum ::A357.0 aluminum is an aluminum alloy formulated for casting. Cited properties are appropriate for the T61 temper. To achieve this temper, the metal is solution heat-treated and artificially underaged. The degree of underaging is different from T64 and T65. A357.0 is the Aluminum Association (AA) designation for this material. A13570 is the UNS

Alcoa Specialty Alloysdefy the quality index previously possible for 3xx alloys, offering considerably higher strengths. This figure compares the quality index achievable with VersaCast versus the common casting alloys A356 and A357. This plot shows the strength of rapidly solidified, permanent mold castings. Constant values of the quality index are shown by red lines.

Guide to the Choice of Filler Metal for General Purpose h. Filler metal with the same analysis as the base metal is sometimes use. The following wrought filler metals posses the same chemical composition limits as cast filler alloys:ER4009, and R4009 as R-C355.0; ER4010 and R4010 as R-A356.0; and R4011 as R-A357.0. i. Base metal alloys 5254 and 5652 are used for hydrogen peroxide service.
Mechanical Behavior of A356/Albite Composite MaterialA356 alloy was used to prepare three different materials via rheo-casting technique; as cast and cast stirred A356 alloy and (A356-3%Albite) MMC material. Chemical composition of both matrix and reinforcement (Albite) materials are listed in table (1) by weight fraction 3 percent. Particle size of Albite powder is ranges from 2- 20 µm.
Mar 01, 2018 · Wrought 6061-T6 aluminum alloy and cast A356-T6 aluminum alloy plates were used as base metals, with dimensions of 200 mm × 70 mm × 4 mm. Wrought 6061 aluminum alloy plates were butt joined to cast A356-T6 aluminum alloy plates by direct current pulse MIG welding with ER4043 filler wire of 1.2 mm in diameter.
Need A356 tig rods - Miller Welding Discussion ForumsInteresting. I see 357 listed as an alternative filler. It has got half the magnesium of 356, but has titanium and berilium (just a little) in it. It seems to be the aerospace version of 356. My first guess is it would be an over match for 356. Both have 7% silicon. I did find it listed on various charts for welding A356 casting.
Understanding the Aluminum Alloy Designation SystemThe Aluminum Alloy Temper and Designation System. In North America, The Aluminum Association Inc. is responsible for the allocation and registration of aluminum alloys. Currently there are over 400 wrought aluminum and wrought aluminum alloys and over 200 aluminum alloys in the form of castings and ingots registered with the Aluminum Association.
Universal Wire Works A356 (AMS 4181) Aluminum Alloy Filler Metal Categories:Metal; Nonferrous Metal; Aluminum Alloy; Aluminum Casting Alloy. Material Notes:Primarily used to inert-gas-arc weld base metals of similar composition requiring joints with strength, corrosion and heat resistance comparable to those of the base metal.
What Aluminum Alloys Can Be Anodized? Metal Mar 14, 2019 · The resulting layer of aluminum oxide that forms is clear and somewhat shiny. Since the underlying pure aluminum is relatively soft, these anodized aluminums can be easily damaged and be lacking in mechanical properties when compared with other series of aluminum alloys. 2XXX Series. This series is used to designate aluminum alloyed with copper Development of NHT Alloys with Good Hot Cracking Hot cracking tendencies of aluminum alloys are significantly affected by alloy compositions. High silicon aluminum alloys, such as A356, normally have no hot cracking issues for any casting process, while high strength 7xxx alloys, such as 7055/7085, are extremely prone to hot cracking, and thus are not castable for shape castings.
